When you hear the word hero, most people think of the typical heroes that you find in movies. When really a hero is a person that you look up to as your role model. A person that you aspire to grow up and become like. A hero is also a person who taught you and shaped you into the person you are. If I had to choose one of my heroes, it would probably be my older sister eyden. She is only seventeen months older than I am, but she has taught me and inspired me to be the person want to become.
One of the first reasons that I would consider Leyden my hero is because Of her strive and mbition. Ever since I can remember, my family and were always at the softball fields. We would sit and watch her practice about five days a week, watch her play in games on the weekends, and also travel around with her while she participated in tournaments. She would always tell me that the reason she worked so hard is so that one day she would be able to grow up and move on to play softball in college.
During the fall of Leyden’s senior year, she got offered to go and play softball at four different colleges. She ended up choosing Miami Dade State where she played softball and went to school, all on a full ride scholarship. This taught me to never give up on my dreams and that hard work will eventually pay off. Another reason I consider Leyden my hero is because no matter when we argue and fight, she is always there for me through anything.
It wasn’t until about three years ago, when my dad passed away, that realized how important it is to be have a real relationship with my sister and for us to always be there and support one another. This is where realized that in the long run, family is what is important. One of the major things that Leyden has always taught me, is to be independent. She has shown me that no matter what you’re going hrough, the only person thatyou need and need to make happy, is yourself.
She has also shown and taught me is how to stand up for myself and the people that mean the most to me. Leyden and I have been through a lot of ups and downs, individually and together. In the long run think it has bought us closer as sisters and friends. Leyden will always be the person I come to when I’m in trouble or when I need advice. She has taught me so many lifelong lessons that will never forget. am truly lucky to have such an amazing, inspiring, and motivated hero in my life and am not sure what I would do without her.
